Note:

Job Description:

  • The Transmission Work Management Scheduler position is responsible for the development and implementation of integrated risk and budget and resource based schedules for Transmission Construction and Maintenance internal and contract resources (apparatus, substation, civil, oversight, electrical, operations, relay, and line).

  • The Transmission Work Management Scheduler works collaboratively to schedule activities of all transmission work groups (and outside organizations) to support the preparation and implementation of transmission work activities.

  • The Transmission Work Management Scheduler is expected to influence positive organization performance and implement objectives by coaching and exhibiting strong leadership skills.

  • Transmission Work Management Scheduler must be highly motivated and have the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks, possess instinctive decision making ability inherent to the need of transmission line construction and maintenance, substation construction and maintenance, relay electrical work and the NERC/ FERC compliance program work, effective written and oral communications skills, and a strong work ethic.

  • This position supports the development and implementation of construction and maintenance work plans to support annual programs ranging from $150M - $300M annually (capital and O&M, approximate). In addition, this position continually manages changes in these plans to align with changing funding requirements, and to align plans to execute the highest priority work.

Responsibilities

  • 35%: Administers the transmission work schedule for each transmission crew supported; this includes: Developing the weekly schedule for a minimum of six to twelve weeks in advance of T-0; Interfacing with the transmission Work Management Planners to assess scope and bundling opportunities, verifying that the required labor estimates and accounting are accurate on all scheduled tasks, coordinating scheduled activities with other organizations as needed and modifying, changing, and updating the schedule prior to execution.

  • 20%: Schedules work activities and resources to support work plans, construction projects, and maintenance work to maintain high levels of equipment reliability. Identifies critical equipment for maintenance, prioritizes work by due dates and faults/operations records. The Transmission Work Management Scheduler works closely with the Transmission Area Coordinators and Work Management Planners to capture bundling opportunities for annual work plans requiring outages, clearances, and/or switching to ensure down time on equipment is optimized.

  • 15%: Assists with the oversight of FERC/NERC compliance and other critical work activities to prevent costly regulatory fines and penalties from being levied against Client Energy. The Transmission Work Management Scheduler identifies critical work activities and keeps all transmission work groups informed of work nearing overdue status in order to avoid negative consequences.

  • 15%: Attends routine, weekly and/or bi-weekly planning /scheduling meetings. The review meeting includes new work requests and prioritizes work activities. The Transmission Work Management Scheduler reviews work orders and work request to ensure accuracy and proper accounting.

  • 10%: Communicates and schedules with various work groups (i.e. Construction, Project Management, Energy Services, T&D Key Account Reps, Nuclear & Fossil Plants, etc.) to identify and coordinate high priority work. The Transmission Work Management Scheduler coordinates construction and maintenance activities with C&M Supervisors, other Schedulers, Area Coordinators and Planners to identify long and short range resource sharing opportunities among various work groups to utilize all available resources judiciously and efficiently.

  • 5%: Supports management decision making through research and accurate information management. For example, initiates backlog review activities to determine the legitimacy and accuracy of the data in Client Energy’s Computerized Maintenance Management Information System (E-Max, Cascade, etc.).

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree

  • Min Required Related Experience - 2 Years

  • In Lieu of Degree

  • Education - High School/GED

  • Years of Experience - 4 Years

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems and software applications: applications include, but are not limited to: E-Max, Cascade, Primavera, Project View, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Experience with the Work Management Systems and Scheduling (Preferred)

Specific Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience if Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years if Associate’s degree.

  • Ability to work Hybrid. 2-3 days in the office and 2 days remote if schedule permits.
